日立製作所は、2012年度より薄型テレビ事業の事業統括機能を日立コンシューマエレクトロニクス(日立CE)から、日立100%子会社で家電製品の販売などを担当している日立コンシューマ・マーケティング(日立CM)に移管することを決定。これに伴い国内の薄型テレビ生産からも撤退する。
